DEVOTIONAL “CHOSEN 5”

Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it, (Luke 17:33).

A believer’s life centers around everything that the word of God has pre-constructed for his/her existence on this physical earth. We believe that the Lord’s actions are always purposeful and focused on the love that He has for every human being on earth. The realization of His plans are hidden from unbelievers; their sin nature is incapable of trusting in God’s word. But the new created being that has been born of the Spirit of God has by default, received the nature of God that believes in His infallible word.

The scripture above is referring to the “decision making process” of receiving Jesus Christ as Lord over your life. If Jesus Christ is your Lord, you are His servant. He has complete authority over your life. You consciously decide to deny your will to dominate your life and instead, you submit to His perfect will. This is what it means to lose your life. Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life, (Romans 6:4).

A true believer has crucified his old man and his sinful ways with Christ. He is no longer a slave to sin, but is made free and now preserved in our Lord Jesus. You may wonder, why is it that I am still struggling with old habits? It is a part of our existence on this fallen earth. Your new man is perfect, but your mind and emotions will influence your way of living; your mind needs to be renewed.

A servant heeds the instructions of his Master willing and obediently regardless of any issues he is currently experiencing. We are so fortunate to have a merciful, loving Lord who considers our weaknesses and grants us the grace that is needed for those challenges we are unable to bear in our human ability. However, your heart is the critical factor. Draw close to the Lord with true intensions, and He will draw close to you; henceforth, releasing His powerful anointed presence that breaks the burden of those struggles. Exercise your faith by enjoying the presence of God while pondering on what you have now discovered.

Galations 2:20 says “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I but Christ lives in me. and the life that I live in this physical body, I live it by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.

God bless you!
