1 Corinthians 2:3-5 (KJV)And I was with you in weakness, and in fear and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
God created human beings just because he wanted to. Since His character is just, we can only conclude that He had good thoughts in mind when He created us. So why would we ever question His motives? Why don’t we inventory our own motives and then measure them against God’s word?
God is God alone. He does not share His glory with man, He takes all the glory, and we willingly give it to him by yielding to His word. But how do we yield continually? We do it by recognizing that the power of God is ultimate in everything. The Lord resist the proud, but He opens up more favor and opportunities to the humble. Resist the urge to reason as an ordinary man/woman, and choose to listen to the counsel of the Holy Spirit.
Paul wanted the Corinthian church to recognize his personal weaknesses and fears, so that they could adjust their lens to see the power of God at work in him in spite of his challenges. It’s easy to contact an attorney to begin divorce precedings. It’s easy to quit your job on the spot because your supervisor has disrespected you and does not recognize your value. It’s easy to blow up on your spouse, sibling, collegue, or the stranger at the grocery store who grabbed the last item you were just about to grab. It’s easy to blow off steam and say derogatory things. But each of these actions have negative consequences. They give room to the enemy.
However, when you wait, patiently, upon the Lord because you choose to trust Him; He releases His supernatural wisdom and His power packed anointing that charges you up and gives you a confidence that cannot be explained. The Lord will begin to download heavenly channels of communication that translates you to higher levels. The issues that initially dominated your thoughts, will become meaningless. The Lord will reveal intricate details. That is the power of God at work in a human being.
So, take charge by allowing the Maker to be in charge. Refuse to look at man’s ability and give God the glory by being a yielded vessel. Allow Him to do what only He can. Be conscious of everything that our Lord Jesus has paid for.
God bless you.
