(15)Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, (16)Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:(Ephesians 1:15-17)KJV
The creator of the universe has made it possible for every human being to engage in the beautiful, and wondrous activity of fellowship through His Son Jesus Christ. His grace and mercy has made this act of worship limitless through the demonstration of direct communication in prayer. Paul acts out his affection towards the Ephesian church by telling them that he has chosen to pray to the Father to give them wisdom and revealed knowledge of who He (the Father), is.
Paul had an intimate relationship with the Father, and an awareness of his ability to affect change through prayer. He possessed a supernatural understanding of what it means to petition before the Lord and he wanted it for the church. The apostle had a desire for believers to become aware of the spiritual blessings and the wondrous gifts they had full access to. His conviction derived from the Holy Spirit’s ministry of imparting the love of God inside of him towards others.
Jesus Christ spent most of His time in prayer because it was His opportunity to receive the divine communion that He once had with the Father before He manifested on earth; read the prayer that Jesus prayed to the Father in John chapter 17. Our Lord and Savior had the awareness of the spiritual warfare that was/is in progress against human beings on earth. When a believer prays, he takes action against the plans of the enemy by executing the weapons mentioned in Ephesians 6:10-18.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
The Holy Spirit opens and reveals the secrets of spiritual intellect to those who seek Him. The word of God is a powerful tool that exposes a realm that the natural man cannot see. The truth does not change, but remains to be so even if you choose not to acknowledge it. Decide to guard your heart, take up your shield, and hold fast to the truth by choosing to be spiritually alert as the scriptures illuminate you into the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is true fellowship; to know Him!
