6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (1 Corinthians 2:6-8)
Mary, the mother of Jesus, wailed at the cross in gross pain of grief as she witnessed the unfolding events she could not have imagined would happen. She had been chosen by Jehovah God as the maid servant who would carry the Son of God in her belly until the appointed season of His birth. However, she was incapable of having the revelation that Jesus Christ did not belong to her. He was authentically the Creator who manifested Himself on this earth in human form. His ministry was to fulfill the prophecy as the Messiah who would willingly sacrifice Himself and save the sins of this world.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Jesus’ ministry on earth, as the Son of man, also referred to as the second Adam, was completed at the cross when He declared it. Imagine the weak, broken, confused mother who knew she could only hold on to the words spoken by the angel,”…He shall be great, and be called the Son of the Highest:” The Son of God was departing as He had proclaimed. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:1-3)
There are assignments that the Lord places in our hearts for His overall purpose. Our position in the matter is obedience in trusting that He knows the end from the beginning. His wisdom is infinite. He created us to depend on His supremacy. The access that He gives or doesn’t give will always be for our good. The obedient maidservant, (Mary), did not ask the Lord God why did He subject her to such agony. Instead, she understood that it was better to trust Him while not being fully aware of the structure of God’s plans, as opposed to allowing her emotional state to present arguments before the Omniscience Jehovah Elohim. Mary’s ministry as the mother of Jesus ended at the cross.
25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
What is the ministry that the Lord has committed into your hands for this season? You have the advantage of the Holy Spirit living inside of you that allows you to go boldly before the throne of grace and receive instructions. Do not despise small beginnings. Jesus entered the world as a seed, planted by the Spirit of God inside of a yielded vessel. Are you yielded? Are you standing in the armor of God in obedience no matter what? The prince of this world, (satan), wants to lure you into trusting in self; choose to trust in God.
